The super-cool, raddest, most delicious, awesomest blog ever

We've never blogged before. But, I think we're off to a good start with the title. I want to dedicate this first blog to the woman who made this all possible...Kathy Evans.

- She taught me to read using flashcards of sounds and helping me try to figure out how a combination of two sounds made a new sound. Like "P" and "H" makes "ffff." As in, "yo, that was phat."

- She tried teaching me speeling. Tried reel, reel hard. I think it helped.

- She taught me lessons like patience - using techniques that did not let me see the immediate benefit, like Mr. Miagi and young Daniel. "You 6 kids wait here in the parking lot, in the station wagon. I'm just going to get a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk." 2-hours later, she would return with four full grocery carts. We would return the patience-growing favor when she realized we had learned how to use the cigarette lighter.

Mom, thanks for everything you have done to make me who I am. I loved growing up in your house. I love you.
